A week after dropping her first single, “Make Me (Cry),” 16-year-old Noah Cyrus is proving to be well on her way to stardom. The singer walked across the red carpet at the 2016 American Music Awards and managed to command the camera’s attention just as well as big sis Miley Cyrus would have.
“It’s really nice, but it’s a little slippery,” she charmingly told InStyle of her red carpet moment. “I love talking about the single that just came out. It’s nice to finally talk about it because I’ve been keeping it in for such a long time. So I’m excited about that.” As for what the song’s exactly about, Cyrus explained: “It’s kind of just about, like, a toxic relationship that you just don’t want to get out of because you love the person so much,” she told us.
Speaking of love, the teenage newcomer says chart-topper Miley and her celebrated father, Billy Ray Cyrus, have surely given her plenty of advice for navigating the music industry. “You’ve definitely got to have some thick skin,” she said of the words of wisdom they’ve shared with her. “I've always kind of gone by with them, like you shouldn’t ever really listen to what somebody says, or you shouldn’t let somebody tell you who you should be. Just be yourself and be happy with it.”

Sounds like she’s destined to go far.
