A look back at guest coaches, part one
Along with the regular four-coach panel of The Voice, previous seasons introduced a celebrity guest coach for each panelist to help counsel the teams.
The celebrity coaches have included:
Carson Daly’s sweet connection to Blake and Gwen
Gwen Stefani opened up about her and Blake Shelton’s decision to have Carson Daly officiate their wedding.
The wedding took place at Blake’s Oklahoma ranch in 2021.
She admitted while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live: “Basically, we didn’t know who was gonna marry us — it was Covid.”
The pop star continued: “We knew we wanted it to be intimate… and I just had the idea of Carson because he’s the one person that we both know so well, and we’ve known through the years.”
Meet your coaches – John Legend
John Legend is on his ninth season coaching NBC’s four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series The Voice – and he’s determined to win this season.
John is a highly acclaimed, multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter who has won 10 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a Tony Award, and an Emmy Award, among other honors.
He is the first Black man to receive an EGOT and one of only 15 members of the exclusive EGOT club.
John has been married to model Chrissy Teigen since 2013, and the pair have welcomed four children.
Meet your coaches – Gwen Stefani
Gwen Stefani is in her seventh season as a coach on The Voice.
Stefani has gained global success as a composer, vocalist, and charismatic front lady of No Doubt, as well as a multi-platinum solo artist.
She is a three-time Grammy Award winner. Throughout it all, she has remained a music and fashion star, winning four MTV Video Music Awards, two Billboard Awards, an American Music Award, and a Brit Award.
She has sold over 60 million sales worldwide, including her four-time platinum debut solo album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. which included the smash songs Rich Girl, What You Waiting For? and Hollaback Girl.
Gwen is married to Blake Shelton, whom she met when they were both coaches on The Voice in 2014. The duo started dating in 2015 and tied the knot in 2021.
Meet your coaches – Niall Horan
Niall Horan is a second-year coach on NBC’s four-time Emmy-winning musical competition show The Voice after he won his debut season with winner Gina Miles.
The 30-year-old auditioned for The X Factor in the United Kingdom in 2010 when he was only 16 years old.
The judges, including America’s Got Talent producer and judge Simon Cowell, eventually teamed him with other solo vocalists Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Liam Payne to form the iconic boy band One Direction.
Since the band’s breakup in 2015, Niall has had a successful solo career and has recently released his third studio album, The Show.
Niall begins his tour for the album next year – meaning he won’t be returning for Season 25 of The Voice.
